Its a quote you’ve definitely heard before if you’re a fan of the UFC as I am. It is used after championship fights when the champion is able to defend there title.
I’m sure that if legendary octagon announcer Bruce Buffer was at Shinnecock Hills on Sunday he would have been using his famous line “and still” after witnessing Brooks Koepka defend his US Open title.
Being held in New York state the 2018 US Open certainly got a lot of media hype.
Thankfully the tournament was certainly able to live up to the hype.
The first two days saw many of the games top player struggle. Players such as Tiger Woods, Jordan Spieth and Rory McIlroy didn’t even make the cut. However there was one man standing alone at the top. Dustin Johnson held a four shot lead after the second round and appeared to have the tournament in the bag. But that would all soon change.
After a disastrous third round that saw Johnson give up his lead the tournament was tied going into the final round.
The final round saw great golf played by Brooks Koepka and Tommy Fleetwood. However it was Koepka who was able to emerge victorious and claim his second major championship and defend his 2017 US Open title.
